| On the western side of the lake Garda, not too far from Gardone Riviera, there is a small island: Isola del Garda, one pleasant surprise. In the course of the centuries the island, currently property of the Cavazza Family, had different names, always linked to the different owners; on the island there is the Villa de Ferrari-Borghese-Cavazza: a villa built in neogothic-venetian style between 1890 and 1903, on plan of the architect Luigi Rovelli (1850 - 1911) for will of the duke Gaetano de Ferrari and the archduchess Maria Annenkoff.
The creation of the wonderful Natural Park of the Island took place in 1880. Its botanical importance is emphasized by the presence of specieses coming from all over the world.
